Explosion Prevention using Inert Gas
The storage, handling and transportation of flammable dusts and liquids can lead to fire and dust explosion hazards.
Yara's inerting systems are bespoke packages built to each application, plant and customer's requirements.
The systems are designed and installed to ensure a safe and continuously productive processing plant.
This is done by preventing fires and explosions before they occur by constantly monitoring critical control points and conditions within areas such as silos, mills and filters used to distribute, store and process flammable dust and liquid materials.
For an explosion of fire to occur there are three necessary ingredients - Fuel (Flammable Liquid or Dust); Ignition (Spark etc); Oxygen. The fuel and ignition cannot be removed from the equation but Oxygen can by injecting the area with an inert gas.
The plant continues to function without any disturbance and with full productivity.
