2022 Solids Handling Industry Awards

 

The Solids Handling & Processing Association (SHAPA) are delighted to announce that the annual Solids Handling Awards to promote success and achievement across our collective industries,  are now open to all companies registered in UK, whether SHAPA members or not, who are directly involved in the solids handling and processing industry.

This exciting opportunity will comprise awards in six categories: the Innovation Award, the Export Award, the Sustainability Awards, the Newcomer Award, the apprentice prize award and the SHAPA Company of the Year Award.


The awards are open for application from the 1st December 2021 and full details on how to enter your company or colleague and applicable conditions are available on the Association website at www.shapa.co.uk but please act quickly – the closing date for all entries is 28th February 2022

Briefly,

The Innovation Award will be made to the company or collaborative organisations who have introduced significant new products or services, or valuable modifications that help drive the industry to further success. SHAPA will be looking for truly ingenious thinking, applied with flair.

The Export Award will go to the company who shows the best achievement relative to their size, with export sales either in one market or across several markets. Imaginative and novel methods that have brought good results will be considered within the assessment of this award.

The Sustainability award will recognise the organisation that can point to either one truly ground breaking step that they have taken to advance their own or customers sustainability, or alternatively through carbon and energy management initiatives reducing a companies’ emissions to meet carbon reduction targets.

Apprentice project Prize awards to be awarded to three apprentices within the SHAPA member community. This will be based on an assessment of their development through a project or challenge overcome and a short video presentation (Max 3 minutes ) to the judging panel. The project does not need to be engineering or solids handing based as it is open to all apprentices irrespective of their chosen career path. There will be three monetary prizes paid direct to the apprentices with a First prize of £500 and two 2 second prizes £250

The Newcomer Award will be awarded to an individual who has contributed to a Member Company / organisation or developed significantly in the field of bulk solids handling, contribution(s) in areas such as sales, design, innovation, apprenticeship or further studies that has/have greatly benefited themselves, their company or organisation.

Finally, the SHAPA Company of the Year will be that organisation considered to have achieved the most in any category, relative to their size, by promoting best practice, setting aspirational industry standards and increasing sales.
All winners may use their award for their own marketing and publicity purposes as they see fit, provided that they quote the year of attainment. This year the awards ceremony will be held at the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge on the 27th April 2022
